2015. How, oh how did we get here already?! It’s been an incredibly exciting 2014 for I Do in a Day with so many dream-like weddings. However, looking at the coming months for this year, 2015 looks set to be the biggest year of love yet! With every new year comes new opportunities for creativity and new trends to inspire us all. Here are some big trends of 2015 we’re looking forward to working with...
Keep it small!
The food and beverage that is (by all means, keep the party big!). Nothing kills the dance floor more than guests who are slumped in food comas after six courses of decadence plus drinks! This year we’ll be focusing less on more and more on less. Individual meals will take a back seat to share platters of antipasto, seasonal roast veg and locally sourced slow roasted meats. Chocolate selection plates will give guests that little sweetness to end their meal while still
leaving room for wedding cake if they desire!
Attention to detail is where it’s at with the bar. Small batch bourbons, wines from boutique wineries and your uncle’s home made Grappa if you dare! You and your guests will remember these little nuances after the big day for years to come.
Keep florals big!
We were all taken back by the lush flower wall that provided the backdrop for Kim and Kanye’s French wedding extravaganza. It seems, like most things the Kardashians do, that this detail has caused one of the coming big time trends for the coming year. Big flowers and lots of them! None of this modest, minimalist design thank you. No tulips shall be strictly snipped to length and tied with a very serious slender ribbon. 2015 will be about volume and wild fluffy petals galore! Get on the English rose train and start loving those peonies because they are going to be everywhere!
Keep it rosey!
Speaking of roses, but on a more bling-bling note. Recently we’ve seen changes in engagement and wedding ring styles. White gold doesn’t suit everyone’s taste and skin tone. From images we’ve seen, it looks as though fashionistas Leighton Meester & Lauren Conrad had the question popped to them this year with equally stunning rose gold engagement rings. This soft hue of gold is not only absolutely on point style-wise, but also gives a unique, romantic feel to any setting. It’s warmer glow suits most skin tones really well.
Keep it colourful!
Staying on the topic of colours, wedding dress colours will be anyones guess this year! For a while now we’ve seen rogue brides rocking gorgeous gowns in sheer muted shades of pink and lilac. Recent gown designs by Australian Johanna Johnson features stunning flowing, layered pieces in icey gunmetal grey. The latest Hayley Paige collection showcases a breathtaking scalloped wedding dress in sweet hues of peach, as well as a regal corset style gown with a voluptuous black skirt.
We can’t wait to play with these trends and throw around new ideas with you, our beautiful 2015 brides-to-be! Contact us, your I Do in a Day consultants to start brainstorming today!
