mocktails

09-06-13

A host and hostess with the most-est knows that the key to a killer celebration is making sure guests always have a glass of something in their hand. This is not to say that that glass needs to contain alcohol! The 'dry' wedding is by no means a thing of the past. But even if you are having alcohol served at your wedding, non-alcoholic offerings will not go untouched. For those who're driving, underage or who just aren't particularly fussed by the idea of a glass of vino, a mocktail or two will go down an absolute treat. Here are a few innocent concoctions that look and taste every bit as cheeky as the next Cosmopolitan...

mocktails

Apple Ginger Fizz

It's not specifically a mocktail, but this one is a cracker for the Autumn season! Mix apple cider with ginger syrup and some crystallised ginger and serve with a cinnamon stick mixer. A lovely celebratory drink with a spice that'll warm the bod and keep those dancing feet refreshed!

Rogue Rosebud

What more appropriate to cheers to love with than a glass of rose petals? This perfectly pink recipe combines equal parts of cranberry and pineapple juice and a dash of passionfruit syrup. Mix with fresh mint leaves, strawberries and lime in a shaker, strain and serve garnished with a rose petal or two. Doesn't get much more romantic than that!

Sangria

Your wedding will be packed with happy little senors and senoritas when you unveil this mocktail sangria. For each table, mix three cups of brewed tea, purple grape juice and club soda with slices of orange, lemon and lime. Add sugar to taste and serve in big glass jugs or punch bowls. Let the fiesta commence!
